Despite a really valiant effort from all of the ladies at AFC Portchester Ladies, it wasn’t the result they had hoped for in their FA Cup game on Sunday ☹️

Every single player was excellent 👏 — not least our very own Shannon Betteridge, who put in a stellar performance before being forced off at 60 minutes after sustaining a nasty head injury while making a great save in the first half.

The girls should be incredibly proud of themselves for breaking records — both in terms of progress through the draw and the fantastic crowd attendances that came out to support them. Superb backing all round 🙌

Shannon has asked us to pass on the following message:

“Please can you thank everyone on the Warsash Wasps SFC social media page for the support I have been given over the past couple of weeks. From the numerous messages from people all over the club, and particularly to those who came along yesterday and were part of another record-breaking crowd — it has been really humbling to see how many people cared and supported our team ❤️”

A true trooper 💪

Well done girls — you’ve achieved great things. Enjoy it for what it was, and come back even stronger next season 🐝

From everyone at Wasps
